Local physician donates $2 million to Bradley Executive MBA program

Peoria, IL . . . May 11, 2009 . . . Local physician and Bradley alumna Dr. Theresa S. Falcon-Cullinan has donated  $2 million to the Executive MBA program at Bradley University to provide scholarships and develop the Theresa S. Falcon Executive Speaker Series.

In recognition of her generosity, the program will be named the Theresa S. Falcon Executive MBA Program, the first EMBA program in the world named for a woman.

“Dr. Falcon-Cullinan's commitment enriches our exceptional program by enabling Bradley to bring internationally known speakers and scholars to campus to interact with students and faculty," said President Joanne K. Glasser. “Thanks to Dr. Falcon-Cullinan’s generosity,  she will help educate Bradley students and  prepare them to compete in the worldwide marketplace. With her support, she is continuing to elevate our Executive MBA program to national stature. We deeply appreciate her generosity to Bradley and her passion for learning."

The gift will provide scholarship support for those entering the Executive Master of Business Administration program with an emphasis on medical personnel and medical administrators.  The speaker series will bring nationally and internationally known professionals to the Bradley campus.

"I live by a simple maxim . . . Give without remembering and receive without  forgetting," said Dr. Falcon-Cullinan.

Dr. Falcon-Cullinan is a successful businesswoman in the Peoria area.  A native of the Philippines, she earned her M.D. at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.  She completed her internship and a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at MacNeal Memorial Hospital in Berwyn, a University of Illinois at Chicago-affiliated hospital.  She graduated from the Bradley Executive MBA program in 2005 and was inducted into the University's Centurion Society in 2008.

Dr. Falcon-Cullinan was one of the first female obstetrician/gynecologists in the Peoria area.  She has delivered thousands of babies in central Illinois and cared for thousands of women during her 30 years of practice. In 1984, she established the Falcon Center for Women, a comprehensive women's health care practice in Peoria.  With her husband, Dr. Stephen Cullinan, she co-founded Health Professionals, Ltd., which provides health services for correctional facilities inmates.

Dr. Falcon-Cullinan has been an adjunct professor at Rush Medical School and been a clinical assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. She was a staff physician at Proctor Community Hospital, OSF St. Francis Medical Center and Methodist Medical Center.  She served as co-chair and chairman of the OB-GYN department at both Proctor and Methodist hospitals.

Bradley's EMBA program was launched in the fall of 2001 and has graduated 109 individuals. The program focuses on leadership and an issues-based curriculum.  Focusing on those areas ensures students are given the tools to lead organizations by providing an interdisciplinary, global perspective on how the disciplines work together in a global economy.
Dr. Falcon-Cullinan’s commitment is part of Bradley’s $150 million fundraising effort, The Campaign for a Bradley Renaissance.  The campaign is raising private funds to help support a variety of initiatives across the university.  For more information about the Bradley Renaissance Campaign, visit its web site at campaign.bradley.edu/.
