Crime Log
The Bradley University Police Department Crime Log contains information on recent crimes and incidents that have occurred on the Bradley University campus and surrounding areas. The Crime Log will be updated within two (2) business days from the occurrence of the crime or incident. If you have any information regarding these crimes that could be helpful, please call (309) 677-2000 or use the Department’s Silent Witness at explore.bradley.edu/police/silent/. A hard copy of the Crime Log is available for viewing at the Bradley University Police Department (1200 W Main St - Unit D) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
According to Federal Law, an institution may withhold any of the required fields of entry (i.e. Classification, Date, Time, Location, and/or Disposition) if any of the following conditions apply:
- The disclosure is prohibited by law
- If disclosure would jeopardize the confidentiality of the victim
- If disclosure would jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation or the safety of an individual
- If disclosure would cause a suspect to flee or evade detection
- If disclosure would result in the destruction of evidence
Note: Incidents with a case number that start with “NA” involve information received from other University Administrators, who are defined by federal law as “campus security authorities.” These administrators share non-identifying information with the University Police that is provided by the victim. In these incidents, the victim did not file an official police report, and therefore, it is not always possible to provide information regarding the five areas typically covered in the Crime Log [i.e. Classification, Date Reported, Date/Time Occurred, Location, Off Campus (Y or N), Disposition]. Because an official report was not filed, there will be no disposition. These incidents are reported to the Bradley University Police Department for statistical purposes and are posted to the Crime Log as the information is received by the University Police.
Crime Log Disposition Definitions (effective February 1, 2008)
The following is an explanation of the terminology used to complete the Disposition section of the BUPD Crime Log.

The case is currently being investigated by BUPD. |
| Unfounded |
The case is determined through investigation to be false or baseless. No offense occurred nor was attempted. |
| Closed (Arrest) |
The subject(s) has been arrested by either BUPD or another law enforcement agency. |
| Closed (Citation) |
The subject(s) has been issued a citation for the violation. |
Closed
(No further action) |
No further investigative action is required. |
Closed
(No information) |
Case has no solvability. |
| Closed (Reclassified) |
The original incident report classification has been changed to accurately reflect the appropriate classification, based on the results of the investigation. |
Closed
(Subject Banned) |
The subject(s) has been issued a University ban notice which restricts the subject from entering or accessing any University property. A violation of a ban notice may result in that person’s arrest for trespassing. |
| Referred to Human Resources |
The case is referred to the Bradley University Department of Human Resources. This department reviews the case and determines if disciplinary action will be initiated. |
| Referred to Peoria Police Department |
The case is being investigated by the Peoria Police Department. |
| Referred to Outside Agency |
The case is being investigated by a law enforcement agency other than BUPD or PPD. |
| Referred to Student Judicial System |
The case has been forwarded to the Student Judicial System. SJS is responsible for reviewing the case and for determining whether or not the student(s) involved will be charged with a violation(s) of the Student Standards of Conduct. |

UPDATE: 04-28-12 Peoria Police arrested the two individuals responsible for the April 19 robbery at Jimmy John?s restaurant on Main St.
At approximately 10:46 p.m. on Thursday, Peoria Police responded to a reported armed robbery at Jimmy John's in the 1100 block of West Main Street. Suspect 1 entered the restaurant, displayed a handgun, fired a shot, and took an undetermined amount of cash. Suspect 2 did not enter the restaurant. Both suspects fled. No one inside the business was injured.
Suspect 1: black male, 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-2, dark complexion, wearing a dark hoody, pantyhose over his face, a light-colored T-shirt with orange letters, and dark jeans. He was armed with a silver revolver.
Suspect 2: Unknown description
Peoria Police and Bradley Police immediately responded and searched the area. No suspects were located.

Precautions
All Bradley University students, faculty, staff, guests and visitors are reminded to:
? Report suspicious people immediately to the Bradley Police
Department by calling 309-677-2000 or using one of the emergency blue light phones on or near campus.
? Use the Student Patrol or Bradley Police Department escort
programs by calling 309-677-2000. Programs operate during evening and night hours.
? Walk in pairs or groups, especially during the evening and night.
? Always remain aware of your surroundings.
? Do not become distracted by talking on your cell phone or
listening to music through headphones on a high volume.
? Travel on well-lit, busy streets and avoid walking through alleys
or parking lots.
? Be aware of places along your path of travel that could conceal a
criminal (shrubbery, building recesses, etc.). Avoid or keep a distance from these areas whenever possible.
? Take note of suspicious vehicles, especially those that appear to
be circling the block or driving unusually slow. If you observe a suspicious vehicle, relay its description and location to the Bradley Police Department by calling 309-677-2000 or using one of the emergency blue light phones on or near campus.
? If you think someone is following you, cross the street, head for
a well-populated, well-lit area and contact the Bradley Police Department.
? If approached, give up your property.
? Do not leave your property, vehicles or homes unsecured.
